@Nacie - Yep, sometimes a step "backwards" is actually a step forward. Biz cards have become so overlooked they may actually be a differentiator today.

@Tim - How right you are, our little phone chat did wonders. I feel like I "know you" in a way that would frankly be impossible via text-based methods.

Another great post, Ryan! Great reminder that not everything revolves around new methods (social media). I actually still am a big fan of a fan phone call.

When you and I spoke on the phone a few months back, I learned a lot about you - more than if we just tweeted a few times, right? And until just recently, I required a 15 minute phone call before I would connect with a new person on LinkedIn. Because no other communication methods would really work for folks outside of Southern California. Although I guess we could have used Skype . . .

Keep up the great work, Ryan. Reading your post here was also a nice intro to BrandCampU

Great points - 4HWW is a branding staple that I turn to not only when I need some good ideas but also when I need a shot in the arm. I just made business cards the other day, nice ones, and it is truly an overlooked branding tool in today's electronic world - don't underestimate the "wow" factor of some professional yet unique business cards!
