Jon,

The idea of the video has more value than what he is saying and how he has defined his brand.

What to do? I have a recently college graduate who is in a field that personal branding would be so benificial to. But just cannot convince her to look at Social Media and its impact on creating a personal brand to further her education. What to do?

This one's been going around: an example of personal branding that's, well, maybe a bit too personal:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbvMZbDGFb8

Some bloggers says it's the exact opposite of what your should do.

I'm of mixed mind. What do you think?

Maor,

Developing a personal brand strong enough to operate or live based upon your own terms is a result of years of hard work. In the world of social media we see these super personalities like Gary Vaynerchuk and we think it happens overnight and that is not true. It takes a series of overnights before we see the fruits of their labor.

Interesting topic Hajj!

In career, I think after years of working and raising in the company, you can easily have your own TOS into action.

Ex: Steve Jobs fired from the company that he established but he returned back because his very very strong TOS.

I believe that TOS has a direct relation with personal brand, see all the soccer players who imposed their salary while they couldn't say one word when they joined the club.

Thanks for the invitation to participate.
